The Independence Cup Classic™ (ICC) is a special, invitation-only ice hockey tournament held each year in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The tournament is founded on the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie within the game of ice hockey. It's a time dedicated to friends getting together enjoying time on and off the ice - a time for laughing at each other and ourselves in a relaxed environment where the winners are proud to have accomplished success, but never at the cost of embarrassing their opponent. The ICC historically has been an "over 40" tournament, but due to the tournament's popularity, the ICC will be adding multiple divisions of play to accommodate more teams. 2016 will mark our 8th Independence Cup Classic, and will be the first to feature an A Division, a B Division, and a Senior Division. The A and B divisions will not have any age restriction other than a minimum age of 21. The Senior Division will be age restrictive.
One other change that will be implemented with the 2016 ICC is the weekend of the tournament. Starting with the 2016 ICC, the Tournament will be held the weekend BEFORE Memorial Day. The first seven ICC's have been held the weekend following Memorial Day.
The dates for the 2016 tournament will be:
Friday, May 20th through Sunday, May 22nd.
We look forward to another successful tournament.
It's always a great day for hockey.
